Ms. Mitchell’s educational background includes a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and an MBA and a B.S. degree from the University of Southern California (USC). Her numerous academic, business and community service awards include graduating with honors with a B.S. in Public Affairs and magna cum laude from the University of Southern California, a full academic fellowship for graduate study in business from the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management, honor grades in law school and graduation from Harvard Law School with a 4.6/5.0 grade point average and a “Portrait of Success Award.”

A prolific writer on business, legal and creative issues, Ms. Mitchell has been published in numerous magazine articles and interviews where these topics are central, including Black Enterprise Magazine, The Recorder, The Connecticut Law Tribune, The American Lawyer, The Washington D.C. Legal Times, Careers and the Minority Lawyer, the National Association for Law PlacementBulletin, and The Daily Journal. Ms. Mitchell published “The Step Ladder to Success—Your Firm Benefits When it Climbs to Diversity Leadership” in The Journal of the Association of Legal Administrators and is a contributor to the completed anthology "Gumbo for the Soul" of which all proceeds will benefit development of "Gumbo for the Soul" After School Literacy Program - a 501(c)(4) public service initiative www.gumboforthesoul.com.

Ms. Mitchell is a member of the California Minority Counsel Program, the Alameda County Trial Lawyers Association, and the Alameda County Bar Association. She is a member of the Antitrust and Unfair Competition and Labor Employment sections of the State Bar, and an Experienced Executive Coach & Diversity Trainer. Ms. Mitchell is admitted to practice all courts in the State of California, Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court in the Northern District, Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and admitted pro hac vice in the Southern District New York.
